Portacode Usage Limits

We try to keep as much of Portacode free as possible.

Running Linux servers costs real compute, storage, and bandwidth. Offering unlimited free access would quickly make the platform unsustainable, especially if we want it to remain available for students and people who are just starting out.

For that reason, free servers are temporary and may be automatically deleted after a set time, and there are limits on how many a free account can create. The self-destruction timeout was chosen carefully. At the moment, it is the only practical way to let many people learn and experiment for free without the infrastructure becoming overloaded very quickly.

We understand that this can be limiting, and we genuinely wish we could offer more.

If you are a student or an early-stage builder working on something meaningful and believe these limits are blocking real learning or progress, you can reach out to support@portacode.com. Please note that exceptions are not automatic. They are intended for cases where the project itself shows clear intent and effort, not just a request for free resources.

We prefer to be transparent about these limits and why they exist.
