Portacode Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 12, 2026
This Policy explains how Portacode ("Portacode," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the service.
Information we handle
Depending on how you use Portacode, we may handle:
- Account information, such as your email address, name, login details, and connected accounts.
- Service and device information, such as device identifiers and status, projects, repositories, commands, usage records, IP address, browser or device information, and diagnostic or security logs.
- Your content, such as code, files, terminal output, messages, attachments, AI conversations, and other information you choose to process through Portacode.
- Communications, such as support requests, service messages, preferences, and feedback.
We also use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, understand use of the service, and protect Portacode.
How we use information
We use information to provide and operate Portacode, carry out your requests, maintain security, prevent abuse, communicate with you, troubleshoot problems, understand how the service is used, and improve it.
AI and other service providers
Portacode uses OpenAI to provide AI features. When you use those features, information needed to complete your request—such as instructions, relevant code or files, terminal output, and conversation context—may be sent to and processed by OpenAI. OpenAI may retain that information under the terms and data controls applicable to the account used to provide the feature.
We may also share the minimum information needed with providers that help us operate Portacode, such as hosting, authentication, repository, communications, analytics, and security services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a reorganization or transfer of the service. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide and improve Portacode, maintain security, resolve problems, and meet legal obligations. Retention varies by the type of information and may include a limited period in logs or backups after deletion. Information processed by another provider is also subject to that provider's retention practices.
Your choices
You can manage or delete available information within Portacode. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account by emailing privacy@portacode.com. We may need to verify your request, and we may retain limited information where reasonably necessary for security, legal, or record-keeping purposes.
You can unsubscribe from marketing messages using the link in the message. You may also choose not to connect optional services or use features that require their data.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No service can guarantee complete security, so please protect your account and avoid submitting sensitive information that is not needed for your work.
Children
Portacode is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
International processing
Portacode and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Privacy laws may differ between those countries.
Changes
We may update this Policy as Portacode evolves. We will post the updated Policy and revise the date above. If a change is important, we will provide reasonable notice where practical.
