What we do

Portacode provides a mobile-first IDE, an optional device-side agent, and assistants (e.g., Telegram/email). We process your data to deliver these features.

Data we collect

• Account data: email, name/handle, password hash or SSO IDs.
• Service data: linked machine identifiers, agent status, command/job metadata, logs or outputs you request to view in the IDE.
• Content you process: files you open, code snippets, terminal outputs, and messages/attachments you send to the assistants.
• Usage & device data: app actions, IP (for security/rate-limiting), user agent, crash/error logs.
• Cookies: essential for auth; optional analytics (see "Analytics").

How we use data

• Provide and maintain the service (auth, linking agents, rendering files, executing your commands).
• Secure the service (fraud, abuse, incident response).
• Improve features (aggregated analytics, error debugging).
• Communicate (service emails, updates).

Where processing happens

• Hosting: Various cloud providers and regions as needed for service delivery.
• AI providers (optional features): Third-party AI services (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) may receive prompts/outputs when you enable AI features.
• Assistants: Telegram/email interactions are processed by our servers and respective providers.

Why we process your data

We process your data to ensure quality of service, maintain security and performance of the platform, and communicate with you about service updates. Some optional features may require your consent.

Retention

• Account data: until deletion or account termination.
• Service data and logs: retained for operational purposes until you request deletion.
• Support emails/forms: 2 years for support continuity.
• You can request deletion of your data by contacting us from your registered email address.

Sharing

• Infrastructure & analytics vendors (minimum necessary).
• AI API providers (only if features are enabled).
• Legal compliance requests when required by law.

Security

• Encryption in transit via HTTPS/SSL; data encrypted at rest where applicable.
• Secrets and API keys are stored encrypted and handled securely.
• You control your machines; uninstall the agent to revoke access.

While no system is perfect, we take security seriously and implement strong measures to protect your data. We strongly encourage users to report any security vulnerabilities or concerns they may notice. Please contact us at privacy@portacode.com for security-related matters.

Your choices

• Opt-out of non-essential analytics.
• Choose not to use AI/agent features to avoid sharing data with AI providers.
• Opt-out of marketing emails.
• Delete your account by emailing us from your registered email address.
• Access, correct, or delete your account data.
• EU/UK/California rights honored where applicable (access/erasure/portability/opt-out). Contact privacy@portacode.com.

Children

Not for individuals under 13 years of age.

International transfers

We may transfer data to countries where our vendors operate, using appropriate safeguards (e.g., SCCs where required).

Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace this Privacy Policy at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
